| ELECTRIC ISLAND|
CANADA DAY EDITION
Escape to the island this long weekend, where the music is good and the vibes are positive. Electric Island, Toronto’s favourite concert and picnic series, is back this summer to feature world renowned Electronic DJs on Toronto’s very own Centre Island. The festival will take place on 4 different days throughout the summer, marking each of the long weekends. So, if you can’t come this Canada Day, be sure to make it out on August 4th or September 1st.
The upcoming July 1st performance features the well-known European artists Dixon, Henrik Schwarz and DJ Tennis, as well as the classic New York sound of the Martinez Brothers. Local talent will include Jeff Button, Nature of Music and Night Vision.
The festival, set up in a picnic style has food trucks available on site. What’s on the menu? The ever popular Gourmet Bitches, serving fine fare and healthy options; Caplansky's Delicatessen, offering the best damn smoked meat you’ve ever had; and Bacon Nation (we think the name says it all). Don’t worry about missing the game. New this year, the event will be streaming the FIFA World Cup games live on a big outdoor screen.
Electric Island is accessible via the Centre Island ferry, which can be boarded at 9 Queens Quay West, near the Westin Harbour Castle hotel. The ferry runs generally every 30 minutes. Full schedule and more information can be found on the website at www.electricisland.to
