Warped Tour 2014

When: Friday July 4th – Doors 11am
Where: The Flats at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre

This summer Warped Tour is celebrating it’s 20th year! The festival is known for integrating skate couture, pop-punk, good causes, mosh pits and tattoos. The festival has hosted and arguably launched the careers of some of pop-punk’s biggest  legends; including Blink 182, Sum 41, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and the list goes on to even include a new to the industry Katy Perry  back in the 2000s. The line-up for the Toronto date this year is sure not to disappoint. The line-up includes some Warped Tour veterans including Mayday Parade, We The Kings, Cute Is What We Aim For, The Devil Wears Prada, Yellow Card and many more (to see the full line-up go to  http://vanswarpedtour.com/dates/toronto-on).

These are the acts that if you attend the festival you absolutely CANNOT miss:

Anberlin
Anberlin:
After 12 years of being a band the group has decided to retire by the end of this year. The Florida natives have stated the reason for their split as being the desire to quit while they’re still on top and while people still care. This decision is both heart-breaking and disappointing to the scene. Therefore don’t you dare miss their set on Friday because quite frankly this is the last time they will be touring with Warped Tour and may be the last chance you’ll have to see them play as a group, and they’re awesome.

We Are The In Crowd
We Are The In Crowd – Hopeless Records
WATIC is a pop-punk band visiting from Poughkeepsie, New York. The band released their sophomore full-length “Weird Kids” at the beginning of this year and have been getting widespread attention and following due to their collaborations with artists such as Alex Gasgarth (of All Time Low) and because they are one of very few pop-punk bands to have both a female and male vocalist. Although Taylor Jardine is the lead vocals, the band would not be nearly as successful without Jordan Eckes’s complimentary male vocals. Why should you check them out? Because they have an authentic pop-punk sound, female and male vocals and a kick-ass stage presence.

The Maine - 8123
The Maine – 8123
After five years the Maine is returning to Warped Tour this summer! The band is known for constantly growing musically and for telling major labels to GTFO for attempting to wager record sales over creative control. Their newest record “Forever Halloween” was recorded live with the help of analogue tape and without computerized sound editing, the result being an authentic, rustic sounding rock album that even impressed Ryan Adams. The band although more rock’n’roll than pop punk will most definitely impress and win over the hearts of every pop-punk nerd in attendance at this year’s Warped Tour. If you enjoy good music you will love The Maine’s set.

SEE YOU THERE!
