Indie Fridays Presents: Wild Child

Yonge Dundas Square – Friday July 25th 8-10pm

This past Friday Wild Child performed at Yonge-Dundas square as part of Indie Fridays. Indie Fridays is a weekly concert event sponsored by Virgin mobile and Indie 88. The shows are completely free to attend and showcase indie bands from all over the continent. To the left of the stage is a beer garden with plenty of seating, beer and BBQ options for patrons. The concerts are very relaxed and a great way to spend a Friday evening in the city! The shows run from 8-10pm every Friday of the summer. The shows are an excellent way to discover new talent and are a must for every Torontonian to attend.

This past Friday Austin, Texas locals Wild Child performed. The band is known for having a unique folk sound and cleverly written songs due to their songwriters being male and female. The band features a Ukulele, a Cello, a Violin as well as the usual guitars and drums that most bands have. The band drew quite a crowd to the square and all audience members swayed along to their calming and chill sounds.  Unlike most crowds at the square there wasn’t any pushing or shoving but rather everyone had space to enjoy Wild Child and the perfect weather for an outdoor concert.

Indie Fridays will continue until the end of summer.  KC Roberts and the Live Revolution will play this coming Friday August 1st.
